Barney Atkinson-Saul
Director, IQP
Barney has been working in the fire protection industry since 2020, when he started with Commercial Building Inspection Services. He lives in Lower Hutt and is IQP registered for all systems Vanguard Fire Protection inspects and has an NZQC Level 3 certificate in Fire Detection and Alarm Systems. Barney undertakes the monthly inspections and BWOF surveys to all sites managed by Vanguard Fire Protection.
Yucen Zhong
Director
Yucen has been involved in the fire protection industry since 2022. She is currently studying at the Open Polytechnic to complete the NZ Diploma in Fire Engineering in order to write fire reports and undertake fire safety design. She also manages writing reports, administration, and often helps with inspections.
Chaplin

Director of Extracurricular Activities
Originally hired to assist Barney in extracurricular activities, Chaplin has happily expanded his role to ensure that Arthur and Oscar partake in fitness programmes regularly, and does so with gusto and boundless enthusiasm. While he might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, the size of his heart cannot be disputed.
Oscar (Corgi)
Security
Oscar’s diminutive size belies his fierce protectiveness, and he takes his role as protector of the entire team very seriously. He will also resolve disputes between the director of mental wellness and the director of extracurricular activities. When not undertaking his duties he can be found nestled under Yucen’s feet.
Arthur (German Shepard)
Director of mental wellness
​Arthur is a very good boy and indisputably the most handsome dog in the world. He provides his companionship to Barney and Yucen in his role as director of mental wellness, and is second to none in his role.
